My wife Donna with the candle holder my daughter and I made for her
As you see it is made from an old pair of blacksmiths tongs my daughter Ambralyn picked out from my collection
The larger candle acts as a counterweight to clamp the tall candle in the jaws of the tongs
The tongs are made of wrought iron and split when I was drawing out one end to a taper. After welding back together I noticed a split still there. Rather than weld up again I capitalized on this and opened up the split to make a "candle flame" end. A happy accident don't you think?
